User agreement
Effective 17 October 2026
These terms apply to everyone who uses Lykeum. The US and EU sections below add information for users in those regions; they do not replace the general terms. If a provision conflicts with a right that cannot be waived under applicable law, that right takes priority.
1. Using Lykeum
By using Lykeum, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service. You must be at least 13 to create an account and must have any additional permission required by the law where you live. You are responsible for your account and for activity carried out through it; do not share your login credentials or impersonate someone else.
2. Community participation
You may create posts, comments, and other content that you have the right to share. Do not use Lykeum to harass others, publish unlawful or infringing material, send spam, interfere with the service, or access accounts or information without permission. Follow applicable law when using the service.
3. Your content and our service
You retain ownership of content you create. By posting it, you give Lykeum a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it as needed to operate the service. You also allow other users to view and interact with content you make available to them. This license ends when the content is removed, except where continued use is needed for content already shared, backups, or legal obligations. Lykeum retains its rights in the service, including its design and software.
4. Roles, rankings, and moderation
School rankings and roles may change as activity is processed or applications are reviewed. A displayed role or rank is not a permanent entitlement. We may restrict or remove content and suspend accounts for violations of these terms or to protect the service and its users. You can report content or contact us if you believe a decision was made in error.
5. Privacy and third-party content
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. Posts and links shared by other users are their responsibility; check important information independently. Discussions on Lykeum are not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or other advice.
6. Availability and liability
We work to keep Lykeum available and accurate, but cannot promise uninterrupted service or that user content is correct. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not provide additional warranties or accept liability for indirect losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice of material changes where required by law. If you do not agree to updated terms, stop using the service.
8. Additional terms for US users
If you live in the United States, applicable federal and state laws may provide rights that these terms cannot limit. This agreement does not require arbitration or waive your right to bring a claim in court. State-specific privacy rights, where applicable, are separate from these terms; our privacy policy describes our data practices.
9. Additional terms for EU and EEA users
If you live in the EU or EEA, mandatory consumer protections in your country remain available even where these terms discuss warranties, liability, or service changes. You may exercise applicable personal-data rights independently of this agreement; see the privacy policy for information about data handling. Nothing here limits any right to challenge a content or account decision under applicable law.
